Some bed surfaces can get more extreme and require you to scuff it with sandpaper or more lightly with steel wool. Generally, a little rub down of the highest strength isoproyl alcohol (99% is best) will help remove any old residue or oils left by your fingers that would hinder the ability of the freshly laid filament from sticking to the bed.
